A tradition that connects
KERN & SOHN and ESSMANN Waagenbau share more than a supplier relationship. Both companies come from the classic craft of scale manufacturing and look back on an exceptionally long history. KERN & SOHN was founded in 1844 in Baden-Württemberg, and ESSMANN followed in 1860. For decades, we have worked together as partners – driven by shared quality standards and a clear understanding of precision.
Company founder Gottlieb Kern was already building scales in the 19th century that were among the most accurate of their time. From these artisanal origins, a modern family business developed that still stands today for reliability and technical care.
